Craft shows give us a lot to figure out.

Some of these questions start before our first show.

Others can still catch us after we’ve done this for years.

Did we choose the right show?

How do we turn all these ideas into a booth that actually works?

Are we really ready?

Did we remember everything?

And when setup is finally done, is the booth actually ready for shoppers?

Then the doors open, and we get to see what happens.

Sometimes our effort and investment pay off. Shoppers stop, they browse, they buy, and the booth feels like we hoped it would.

Sometimes the results aren’t what we hoped for.

And sometimes enough is working that we know we’re close—but something still leaves us wondering.

Why aren’t shoppers staying?

Why does nothing ever feel finished?

Why are shoppers missing what matters?

Something feels off—but what is it?

We’ve asked those questions too.

And we’ve heard the answers.

Go higher. Go lower.

Add more product. Take some away.

Fill the empty space. Create more empty space.

Add color. Simplify the colors.

Raise the tables. Lower the tables.

Add signs. Lose the signs.

Make it feel fuller. Give shoppers more room.

Follow the trends. Stop following the trends.

After a while, even good advice starts to sound a little ridiculous when all of it is supposed to be the answer.

Some of it helped. Some of it didn’t. And sometimes, after doing all the things we were supposed to do, we still didn’t understand what was actually happening — or why.

Sound familiar? Us too.

That’s where Artisan Kraftwerks began.

Not with another list of things to try, but with a different question:

What can we learn from what’s already happening in front of us?

Where would you like to go next?

Thinking about your next show—or maybe your first one?

What does it take to feel more confident and prepared before show day?
